Oh boy, oh boy! Nachos! Totally yummy dish. My nachos sauce just keeps getting better and better. I made a huge plate of these and watched movies the other day. Now, I'm hankering for more. Alas, I've exhausted my nachos ingredients supply unless I want to boil pinto beans and bake tortillas myself. I've done that before, but so far I haven't made very good refried beans. My flour tortillas are better than storebought though. I haven't tried corn tortillas yet, but I will soon! Oh boy oh boy, nachos! Yay!
We were very excited to buy and install our e-pod electric motors from Re-e-power, however there have been a lot of nagging issues, many of which are related to manufacturing quality. Currently the port motor is not working, as it appears that somehow the motor has let saltwater into its casing. In light of this development, I have posted a summary of our history with the electric motors. We've been big proponents of the Re-e-power electric motors. For months we even had an advertisement hanging on our boat advertising the motors. But perhaps our enthusiasm was premature? Time will tell as we await for the manufacturer to make things right.
Hawaii is a tropical paradise with no doubt the best year-round weather in the United States. Being an island, you'd think that Hawaii would have recreational boating facilities that far surpassed all others. We Americans like to promote ourselves as having the greatest nation in the world. And so, it should come to no surprise that Hawaii, America's gateway to Asia, should be the crowning gem in the nation's nautical manifest. But its not.Instead hundreds of slips are condemned, crumbling into the ocean. Instead of departing their boat onto a finger pier, visitors must perform advanced gymnastics to leap off their boat. That's a fine 'Welcome to Hawaii' for you. Frankly the quality of our harbors is an embarrassment for our state and our nation.
We've got a new logo that commemorates our long history of adventures. One year we're hauling 20' pieces of lumber on a 12' car, the next we're screwing down roofing material at a height of 30' in the air. And more recently in our sailing adventures, we found ourselves hauling our boat out for an electric conversion. Moving to Hawaii, homesteading in the rainforest, and living aboard a sailboat--Eric and I have stuck by eachother through thick and thin all these years.
Christmas used to be my favorite time of year. Being the youngest child of six, this was the time when I'd be spoiled rotten at not one, but two Christmases. No, I didn't have a divorce family, but a Grandma that lived in Burbank. Christmas Eve we'd spend at Grandma O's house in Burbank, and Christmas we'd spend at home in Newhall, But this little writing adventure is not about reliving those merry moments, but a lament of their passing.
